Smart Washbasin for Public Disabled Toilets

This basin, designed for public restrooms to accommodate people with disabilities, features a height-adjustable function. Using up-down control buttons on a smart faucet, anyone can easily adjust the washbasin’s height.

The faucet automatically dispenses soap and water when users bring their hands closer to it and offers a voice assistant for controlling functions such as height adjustment and accessing information.

The smart mirror not only informs users of the time, date, and weather outside but also enlarges the reflected image, allowing individuals with low vision to see it in detail.

It won the 2023 IDA Silver award in Industrial & Life Science Design-Inclusive & Equity Social Products category.

This new concept is an evolution from the earlier design prototype showcased by our project’s partner company, Dalim Bath Co., at the ‘Korea Rehabilitation, Homecare, Welfare Expo’ in June 2023.

The smart mirror not only informs users of the time, date, and weather outside but also enlarges the reflected image, allowing individuals with low vision to see it in detail whenever they want. It utilizes under-display camera technology to capture the user’s image without the need for separate holes in the display.

In addition to Braille, the smart faucet offers a voice assistant for controlling functions such as height adjustment and accessing information, such as the outside temperature displayed on the smart mirror.

The faucet automatically dispenses soap and water when users bring their hands closer to it.

It won the 2023 IDA Silver award in the Industrial & Life Science Design-Inclusive & Equity Social Products category.
